What is a Pre Op Liver Reduction Diet?

The Bariatric Surgery pre op liver reduction diet is necessary for safe and effective surgery on the stomach. This may take several forms depending on where you look for information, but typically it requires a restriction on the types of food and fluids that are eaten, including amounts. There’s a particular focus on proteins, carbs, and fats. You should aim to complete the liver reduction diet in the timeframe given to you as failure to do so could see your operation cancelled by the surgeon if he is unable to safely access the stomach.
