Weight Loss and Your Health

As specialist providers of gastric balloons and bariatric surgery, our team (comprised of dedicated consultants and specialist patient advisors) is well-versed in the many risks and complications associated with obesity. These include everything from diabetes, mobility issues, liver and heart problems, and even our mental health. A full list of comorbidities can be found on the NHS website. It is for these reasons that weight loss can become essential to a person’s health and wellbeing.

The team at Allure specialise in medical weight loss, both surgical and non-surgical, with clinics across England and Wales. We have handpicked our consultant surgeons and gastroenterologists to ensure our patients receive the highest levels of care possible. With Allure this care also included 1 to 1 dietetic and nurse support.

Gastric Balloons

Gastric balloons are a non-surgical weight loss method designed to facilitate the feeling of hunger by occupying 60% of the stomach, delaying gastric emptying, and suppressing production of the hunger hormone known as ghrelin. We provide two distinct models of gastric balloon. These include the FDA approved Orbera 365, a gastric balloon that can remain in the stomach for a maximum of 12 months, and the four month Allurion Balloon which is swallowable. Average weight loss is between 10 – 18% with the Orbera and 10 – 15% with the Allurion Balloon. Naturally, results vary from patient to patient. Each one of our patients can expect to take full advantage of a bespoke Aftercare Service that enables you to make use of experts on a personal, 1 – 1 basis. You can find our gastric balloon patient testimonials online.

Surgical Weight Loss Methods

Bariatric surgery goes back to the development of the roux-en-y gastric bypass, also known as the gold standard of bariatric surgery. Allure Weightloss are able to facilitate this surgery, as well as the gastric sleeve and mini-gastric bypass. Bariatric surgery should be thoroughly considered, and is a major surgery (although considered relatively straight-forward by surgeons). Our patient advisors, nurse, and consultants will help you with your journey. It is important to remember that it will ultimately be down to the consultant surgeon to determine your eligibility for any given procedure.
