The Importance of Keeping Active

Keeping active is a key part of weight loss, even if you are taking part in a gastric balloon placement or have had bariatric surgery. Keeping active is essential to keeping off weight in the long-term, along with a healthy and proportioned diet. Whether you are looking to start hiking, going to the gym, jogging, or taking brisk walks, all exercise means you are heading in the right direction for your mental and physical wellbeing.

Improve Mental and Physical Health

It is no secret that our physical health has a huge impact on our mental health, with obesity and depression being understood as reciprocally linked. This means that when somebody becomes obese they are at a higher risk of developing depression and vis versa. This is explained by the tendency to overeat / comfort eat and also the reduced levels of activity associated with both conditions. It is, therefor, often recommended that the two be tackled in tandem for the best results.

Allure Weightloss are proud to be able to offer Weight Counselling as an optional extra with any medical procedure.

NHS Get Active

In an effort to get people on their feet and doing more, the NHS are currently running the ‘Get Active‘ campaign. With their ‘Couch to 5k’ and ‘Active 10’ programmes, they NHS have created a way for people to get involved at a pace that suits them.
