Gastric balloons are non-surgical weight loss tools designed to provide temporary support. They reduce hunger by suppressing the production of ghrelin, occupying around 60% of the stomach and delaying gastric emptying. Whilst in place, patients will be have the support of a registered dietitian to help them make necessary long-term changes to help lose weight and maintain their weight loss. Minimum BMI requirements are 27 for the Allurion Balloon and 30 for the 12 Month Orbera 365.
