Mr Periyathambi Jambulingam

Mr Periyathambi Jambulingam ( ‘Jambu’ as we know him) is a Consultant specialising in General Surgery with an interest in gastrointestinal surgery and weight loss surgery. He has been working as a Consultant for Luton and Dunstable Hospital NHS Trust since 2007, and also currently works at Hammersmith Hospital in London.

Mr Jambulingam is highly experienced in all aspects of bariatric surgery, including insertion of gastric balloons, gastrectomy, gastric bypass surgery and laparoscopic gastric banding. He has completed a number of bariatric training courses across Europe which has allows him to perfect his surgical skills and deliver his best performance at the Obesity Centre for Research at his current consultant post.

His areas of interest include oesophago-gastric surgery covering acid reflux disease, hiatus hernia repair, achalasia cardia and fundoplication, and he regularly performs oesophagectomies and gastrectomies for malignant tumours.
