Nurse Haley Gilmour

After qualifying from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2015, I worked as a Staff Nurse in Orthopaedic Surgery. Thriving in the fast-paced trauma environment, which is where I gained the basis of my surgical nursing, I wanted to expand that skillset. Therefore, after 2 years I moved onto Emergency Medicine. I nursed within Accident and Emergency Departments across Glasgow for many years, gaining invaluable knowledge and experience in Emergency Care, Trauma Management and Life Support. This was an experience that strengthened my confidence and ability in assisting patients with any questions or concerns as the Clinical Lead Nurse.

In 2020, I decided to leave the NHS and specialise in Bariatric and Cosmetic Surgery. I initially worked as a Senior Clinic Nurse and Bariatric Lead Nurse within a private setting in Glasgow, whilst independently practising cosmetic and medical tattooing. I found a passion and love for Bariatric and Cosmetic surgery through helping support patients with their journey and aftercare. This gave me a deeper appreciation and understanding of the importance a nurse holds within each patient journey. 

I enjoy forming trusting relationships with my patients and celebrating the achievements they make when they reach their target weight or are healed to their final surgical result. This ethos is paramount to Allure’s message and culture and is why I am so privileged to be a part of the team.

I feel grateful to have found my passion in Bariatric and Cosmetic Surgery, helping my patients to achieve their goals and create healthier and happier lives.
