In this guide on how to book your gastric balloon placement with leading providers in the UK, we will outline all the necessary steps involved.
Step 1: Enquiry
Simply send an enquiry to our team confirming your eagerness in regard to booking your gastric balloon placement with us. You can do this by calling, emailing, or by using our online submission form. Please make sure to provide us with relevant information, such as your phone number, name, location, and the type of gastric balloon that you would like placed. Our patients have three gastric balloon programmes to choose from, which all differ slightly from one another. These include:
- The Allurion 4 Month Gastric Balloon Programme
- The BiB 6 Month Gastric Balloon Programme
- The Orbera 12 Month Gastric Balloon Programme
Step 2: Screening
Once one of our wonderful patient coordinators has established your eligibility for the balloon, you will partake in a Baseline Screening. During this quick 10 – 15 minute call, our team will work to further detail your medical history in order to ensure it is safe for you to have the gastric balloon. Once finished, a Nurse Assessment will be arranged with you at your soonest convenience.
Step 3: Nurse Assessment
Your first meeting with the nurse will work to establish dialogue and go through some more questions with you regarding the balloon. This relatively quick meeting will help you to feel comfortable and sure in your decision for the gastric balloon. This will also be the nurse that you meet with going forward, who will track your progress and health and whilst the balloon is in place.
Step 4: Consultation
After your Nurse Assessment, your patient coordinator will be back in touch to arrange your consultation. This will take place with one of our GMC registered Consultants who will be overseeing and conducting your gastric balloon placement. This is your chance to ask more questions, and get familiar with your consultant. This will also provide the opportunity for the Consultant to sign-off on your procedure.
Step 5: Secure Your Booking
Once the Consultant has signed off on the procedure, it will be time to secure your booking. This will mean providing payment in full, your initial deposit, or signing your finance document. Either way, it is this that will allow us to book you in with one of our fantastic gastric balloon placement clinics. Our team will work to ensure we can get you in at a convenient time, at the most convenient location in relation to where you live. You will also be provided a prescription of medication to take before and after your gastric balloon placement. And as always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
Step 6: Get Ready for Placement
At this point you are all booked in, including for your initial meeting with your HCPC registered Allure Weightloss Dietitian.
